AK Memorials Ltd – Terms & Conditions

  1. Design Accuracy All memorials, whether bespoke or standard, will be crafted to match the chosen design. Standard designs will strictly adhere to outlined drawings, while bespoke designs allow modifications before ordering. Once ordered, no changes can be made (additional costs will apply).
  2. Material Selection Customers select the stone color of their memorial, and AK Memorials Ltd strives for a 99.9% color match. However, we cannot be held responsible for natural blemishes or variations once dispatched by suppliers.
  3. Personalized Inscriptions Customers work with our design team to finalize inscriptions. Changes can be made before confirmation; once approved, no further revisions are possible (costs will apply).
  4. Additional Rear Design Adding design elements to the back of the memorial incurs an extra charge of £150.00, which will be donated to a charity chosen by AK Memorials Ltd.
  5. Payment Terms
  • A 50% deposit or full payment (non-refundable) is required upon confirmation of the memorial.
  • If a deposit is paid, remaining balance must be settled before or on the day of fitting.
  • Payment plans are available, subject to credit checks, with individual contracts.
  • Failure to pay will result in immediate legal proceedings.
  1. Cemetery Paperwork & Permits Customers will be charged 20% of the final payment for cemetery paperwork, permits, and invoices required for memorial installation.
  2. Fitting & Completion
  • Standard fitting takes approximately 3 months.
  • Bespoke orders may take up to 6 months, depending on:
    • Supplier delays
    • Shipping and material availability
    • Weather conditions preventing installation
    • Material inconsistencies at the time of fitting

Memorials for earth graves cannot be installed before 12 months due to clay settling. If installed earlier, customers are responsible for any subsidence-related issues.

  1. Memorial Maintenance We provide cement filling repairs for 25 years, ensuring long-term durability.
  2. Post-Fitting Repairs If a memorial is damaged after installation, AK Memorials Ltd will consult with the grave owner. Repairs will be provided at an additional cost.
  3. External Damage Disclaimer We do not take responsibility for:
  • Vandalism
  • Weather-related damage
  • Damage caused by third-party memorial fitters or the public Any disputed damages will undergo a forensic assessment by independent stone manufacturers & masons.
  1. Transport & Liability AK Memorials Ltd ensures safe transportation of all memorials from our headquarters to the cemetery. In cases of transit damage, we will replace, alter, or refit as required.
  2. VAT Charges Where applicable, VAT will be charged on memorial products and services.
  3. Memorial Discoloration We do not take responsibility for natural discoloration after installation. Customers will receive guidance on proper memorial maintenance.
  4. Legal Disputes In the event of a dispute, AK Memorials Ltd will engage legal representatives promptly. Court proceedings will begin, and all legal costs will be added to the resolution process.
